We started in December 2017, organising a charity comedy night for a homeless charity in Shropshire and ran what can only be described as absolutely terrible gigs with the odd moment of genius until late 2019, when we were finally given budgets to book acts with.
At this point, the seeds of the modern day Kunf Fu Pug Comedy were born and quickly started sprouting pro lineups across North Shropshire and beyond, from Whitchurch, Ellesmere, Oswestry and Market Drayton to Wrexham, Rural Wales, Newport and even Droitwich of all places!
We currently have regular venues in Oswestry, St Martins and Newtown with a yearly festival in Droitwich on the books too but we're always on the lookout for new places.
TV stars have graced our stage, as have social media viral celebs and a several of our grassroots comedians have gone on to join the BBC writing team amongst other things such as C4 Comedy Award winners, English Comedian of the Year winners, Leicester Mercury winners and whole heaps of Edinburgh Comedy Festival awards.
There are no airs and graces to our shows - we just book funny comedians and put on the best shows with the budgets we've been given. We also believe that audiences deserve value for money and our acts deserve respect.
